NYSDOH Health Notification

Author: Lisa Volk* Published in Clinical & Quality

The emergence of carbapenem resistance among Enterobacteriaceae in the United States represents a serious threat to public health. Wide variability exists in the incidence of these organisms identified in hospitals across New York State. Healthcare facilities should ensure awareness of the issue and appropriately implement infection prevention practices to decrease the development and spread of these organisms.  See the attached Advisory for details.
